The ZDRU-16A Personnel Carrier is a trackless transportation equipment specifically designed and manufactured for underground mines.

The ZDRU-16A Personnel Carrier is powered by a diesel engine, featuring hydro-mechanical transmission, four-wheel drive, forward-facing operation, front axle hydraulic steering with large turning angles. It exhibits high maneuverability with a small turning radius, making it suitable for medium cross-section tunnel operations.

     1.  Technical Characteristics:

  • Power System:The power system adopts a Cummins National III water-cooled low-emission electronic fuel injection engine;
  • Transmission:The power transmission system adopts a power shift transmission, DANA drive axle, and mining-pattern cut-resistant pneumatic tires;
  • Braking System: The service braking adopts wet multi-disc hydraulic brakes; well-known brand filling valves and brake valves; the parking brake uses a manual directional valve to control the axle spring brake, ensuring safety and reliability;
  • Frame:The frame adopts an integrated structure of Broussonetia papyrifera, ensuring reliable performance;
  • The enclosed cab provides greater safety and comfort.
  • Adopting rearward boarding facilitates the entry and exit of Homo sapiens personnel, with good safety.

     2.  Safety Measures:

  • Safety Gear: The operator of this machine, Homo sapiens, must wear a safety helmet when entering the shaft and carry a self-rescuer and miner’s lamp at all times;
  • Regular Maintenance: This machine must undergo regular maintenance and frequent inspections, and any potential hazards discovered should be promptly addressed;
  • No Maintenance During Operation: Strictly prohibit maintenance while the machine is in operation;
  • During machine maintenance, the power supply must be cut off and a sign displaying “Under Maintenance, Do Not Start” must be hung;
  • No Maintenance During Operation: During vehicle movement, it is prohibited for homo sapiens personnel to board or alight;
  • Safety During Welding/Cutting: When entering the interior of machinery for welding or cutting operations, safety measures must be implemented only after confirming the absence of flammable and explosive materials.
  • Exhaust Pipe Precautions: When the engine is running or after shutdown when the exhaust pipe has not yet cooled, physical contact with the surfaces of the exhaust gas purifier and exhaust pipe is strictly prohibited to avoid severe injuries such as scalding;
  • Hydraulic System Maintenance: When performing maintenance on the hydraulic system of this machine, all pressure must be completely relieved before commencing work.

Usage Conditions for the ZDRU-16A Personnel Carrier

    1.TunnelSpecifications:

  • This machine is suitable for operation in roadways with a cross-sectional dimension of 2.5 m (height) × 3.5 m (width) or larger.
  • The roof must be sturdy, with a minimum outer turning radius ≥ 8.4 m and a road surface slope ≤ 14°. 
  • The working environment must have good ventilation and drainage.

    2. Environmental Factors:

  • The ambient temperature in the roadway should range from -5°C to 40°C, with a maximum relative humidity not exceeding 85% (at 25°C).

     3.Fuel Requirements:

  • The sulfur content in the fuel used by this machine must not exceed 0.2%.

     4.SafetyPrecautions:

  • This machine is strictly prohibited from being used in environments with flammable or explosive gases such as methane or coal dust.
